As winter sets in, many employees with flexible work schedules might consider escaping to warmer climates if they are allowed to work remotely.
A recent study from Eskimoz ranked the best winter escape cities for remote work based on factors including average winter temperature, accommodations, cost of living, safety, internet speed, the number of coworking spaces and quality of life.

Bangkok, Thailand is the best city for winter remote work. This city is consistently warm, with an average winter temperature of 81.09 degrees. It also has 164 coworking spaces.
Other top cities include Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Taipei, Taiwan. Kuala Lumpur has the highest number of accommodations, at 3,598, as well as an average winter temperature of 80.55 degrees. Taipei has a fast internet speed at 260 Mbps, as well as a high safety index score of 83.7.
"A growing number of remote workers are seeking destinations that perform great in warmth, affordability, and infrastructure to support their lifestyle," a spokesperson from Eskimoz said in a release. "Cities like Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, with their tropical climates and extensive coworking spaces, are perfect examples of how urban hubs can cater to the needs of digital nomads. Meanwhile, tech-friendly cities like Taipei stand out for their fast internet speeds, while more budget-conscious options like Hanoi prove that remote work can be both practical and cost-effective. These rankings highlight how diverse global cities are adapting to meet the demands of a remote-first workforce, making it easier than ever to escape cold winters without sacrificing productivity."
