Would you move countries if it meant you could work less hours for more money?
For employees wanting to make the most out of their paychecks, software company Tipalti looked at where they get the most bang for their buck. And while money plays a role, having the time to enjoy it is important for employees' well-being, too. Tipalti measured a country's average annual work hours compared to the average annual salary to give each country a score out of 10.

Switzerland took the top spot, due to the country having the highest average annual salary, along with one of the lowest annual working hours across the surveyed countries. Surprisingly, the U.S. came in second, with employees working 1,757 hours annually, and making an average income of $64,140. However, during the pandemic, the average American worker's weekly work hours increased by 30%, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, leading to high rates of burnout and workplace dissatisfaction.
In search of more flexibility and freedom, 42% of employees said they would want to use their company's remote working policy to work abroad, according to hybrid workplace platform Hubble. In fact, only 3% of respondents said that they would exclusively want to work from a company's home office.
