Ensuring workers' happiness and establishing a positive workplace culture is the key to retaining and recruiting employees.
A recent study from TollFreeForwarding.com revealed the industries where employees are the happiest. The study analyzed online review data from Glassdoor for 200 companies across 10 industries and ranked them on factors including culture and values, diversity and inclusion, work-life balance, compensation, career opportunities and senior management satisfaction, with a score out of 100. It then calculated an average score to determine the overall ranking.

Workers in the construction industry are the happiest, with top employee satisfaction scores in compensation, as well as culture and values.
Other industries with high employee satisfaction include accounting and taxes, as well as manufacturing. Accounting had top scores in career opportunities and senior management. Manufacturing had top scores in diversity and inclusion.
"It's clear that job satisfaction plays an important role in employee retention, and research shows that happy employees are more productive than those dissatisfied with their jobs," Jason O'Brien, COO of TollFreeForwarding.com, said in a release. "As our findings show, employee satisfaction is based on a variety of factors, from workplace culture and compensation to opportunities and management. Businesses that want to retain their employees need to focus on all these factors, as the top-ranking industries scored highly across the board."
