Finding a job can be a full-time challenge in and of itself, including updating a resume, writing cover letters and scheduling interviews. Deciding where to look for a job can make the process even more difficult.
WalletHub recently ranked the best states for employment, comparing the 50 states based on factors such as job-market strength and economic health.
New Hampshire is the best state to find a job, due to its low unemployment rate. The state also has the third-most job opportunities per capita, as well as an increase in available jobs per year of around 1.7%.
Other top states for finding jobs include Vermont and Minnesota. Vermont has a low unemployment rate. And for the unemployed, they don't stay that way for long; only 0.5% of the labor force has been unemployed for 15 weeks or longer. Minnesota, on the other hand, has the third-highest median household income, at over $82,000, adjusted for the cost of living, as well as a high average monthly starting salary, at nearly $3,900.
