Software company Workday took the top spot on this year's list, followed by restaurant and indoor golfing range franchise Topgolf. Rideshare company Uber came in third, a significant improvement from 17th place last year, and improving upon a work culture that was previously reported to be "aggressive" and "unrestrained," according to a 2017 New York Times article.
Other tech titans such as Google, Meta and Microsoft, however, all dropped down the list significantly this year, with none of them breaking the top 100. Last year, all three companies were in the top 50. The drop could be due, in part, to the massive layoffs the tech industry saw early this year that affected more than 170,967 workers in the U.S.
