A more equitable future of work for women can only be achieved with CEOs dedicated to making it happen.

The pandemic and remote work has left working women worse for wear — both in their personal lives and their professional ones. In addition to struggling with a deteriorating mental health, 45% of female business leaders say it’s more difficult for women to speak up in virtual meetings, and 20% have witnessed more discrimination at work since the COVID-19 outbreak, according to a study conducted by Catalyst, a leadership strategy non-profit.

With remote work a new normal and more women prepared to leave the workforce should things remain the same, it’s imperative that business executives not only recognize the needs of their female employees, but enact change — or they’re going to lose them.

However, in spite of it all, there are companies who are doing something right. Company monitoring site Comparably released its comprehensive list of top CEOs for women. The top 50 have an average approval rating of 88%, compared to an 69% approval rate for all other companies rated by female workers on Comparably’s site.

"Our annual Best CEOs for Women list continues to shine an important light on the leaders that female employees rated as the best of the best,” CEO Jason Nazar said in a release. "These chief executives create environments that support and encourage women, and we hope other leaders will be motivated to do the same within their own organizations."

Comparably’s 2021 Best CEOs for Women represents the top-ranked CEOs and businesses — as rated by female employees on the company’s site — in the previous 12 months. See the top 10 below and the full list here:
