Employees have been growing more vocal about the kind of holistic support they expect from employers, and the pandemic has further highlighted their determination to work for a company that understands the value of positive work-life balance.

“The unique challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic have caused many employees to reflect on their job experience, and as a result, we’ve seen many workers reevaluate their careers,” says Lauren Thomas, a Glassdoor economist. “To help employers retain their employees, it’s especially important to prioritize their well-being, and that means finding ways to prevent burnout and helping employees find balance in and out of work.”

As the impact from the pandemic became more apparent and the lines between work and personal time have blurred, employers are offering more supportive benefits that address stressors and help employees find greater peace of mind.

“Work-life balance is attainable at companies, especially as the pandemic continues,” Thomas says. “We’ve seen some employers offering company-wide days off or unlimited paid time off policies, so that employees can unplug and recharge. Some employers are even showing more empathy and flexibility in the working day so that employees can set their own schedules to balance personal responsibilities outside of work.”

Glassdoor evaluated reviews from current and former full-time employees to rank individual companies on a five-point scale based on their work-life balance. Scroll through to learn which companies topped the list.
