10 most affordable cities to WFH

Work from home is here to stay, and finding the best place to do it is top priority for remote workers.

Since the start of the pandemic, almost a quarter of the workforce has transitioned out of the office, up 87% from pre-pandemic levels, according to data from Upwork. The freedom to work from home has allowed many workers to find cities that fit their needs to strike a better work-life balance.

Digital marketing agency Higher Visibility analyzed cities across the U.S. for the most ideal places for people to work. Factors included affordable housing and rent prices, cost of living, accessibility of Wifi and other traits like the amount of green space and number of coffee shops.

Cities in Florida took several of the top spots, due to lower-than-average home prices and ample access to green space. St. Petersburg, Florida has an average home price of $284,709, making it $10,000 cheaper than the average home across the U.S.
