Financial services provider Remitly looked at annual search volume of the most researched jobs across 25 countries, including the U.S., the UK and Canada. Phrases like "How to be a…" signaled which jobs were in the
Becoming a pilot came in first place, with an average global search volume of nearly a million Google searches. The job is widely known for having competitive pay, good job prospects and robust travel opportunities. Jobs in arts and culture also ranked highly, with writer, actor and dancer making the list of aspirational professions.

"It's clear that our desire for travel and exploration has not been dimmed by the past couple of years and becoming a pilot remains a much sought after lifestyle," Jago McKenzie, business management director at Remitly, said in a press release. "We see a huge range of different professions featuring prominently, including many that can be done solely online, from anywhere in the world."
With the Great Resignation still underway, employees may be more likely to pursue
"People are getting used to the idea of changing careers at least once in their lifetime as the flexibility to work online and retrain increases," McKenzie said. "Some of the main reasons people seek a career move are for better work-life balance, higher pay and a more meaningful and fulfilling career."
