Spotify Wrapped for work: 10 songs to boost productivity

As employees share their end-of-year Spotify wrap-ups and put a new pair of headphones on their Christmas lists, it's clear music plays a big role in helping workers get through their day. 

Ninety-four percent of employees listen to music during their workday, according to a survey by Cloudcover Media, and 78% say music boosts their productivity. Academic research has connected music with increased cognitive function and better emotional regulation, useful for managing stress and anxiety

Some songs will get the juices flowing and the mood boosted more than others: Telecommunications provider TollFreeForwarding.com analyzed nearly 4,000 Spotify playlists with the keywords "work playlist," "office," "office playlist," "work focus" and more to find the most frequently-appearing songs. 

The list features upbeat tracks like "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey, and the Whitney Houston classic, "I Wanna Dance with Somebody," for a midday energy boost. Top 40 hits like "Flowers" by Miley Cyrus and "Watermelon Sugar" by Harry Styles also made frequent appearances on employee playlists.
