While a majority of employers plan to bring workers back to the office more regularly in 2024, that doesn't mean remote work is dead for job seekers.
Remote job search site Flexjobs put together a list of companies that had the most remote and hybrid job posts up in 2023, highlighting which employers are prioritizing flexibility four years after the start of COVID. For job seekers hoping to snag a remote position this year, it looks like the communications, technology, healthcare and even retail industries have some options. However, it's still crucial for job seekers to question the company's style of communication, culture and tools they use to connect distributed workers to ensure a positive remote work experience.
"Job seekers, whether through their research, during networking conversations or in job interviews, should aim to ask strategic questions and uncover information related to a company's culture and remote systems," says Keith Spencer, career expert at FlexJobs. "This information can give them a better understanding of whether or not the company is fully committed to helping their employees be successful in a remote capacity."
