Kronos upgrades Workforce Central HCM suite

Kronos recently upgraded its Workforce Central management suite with features that make it easier for human resources executives to analyze workforce trends and give employees mobile access to their schedules and time-off requests.

Kronos Workforce Central is a leading workforce management platform with HRMS features. The cloud-based system includes attendance, scheduling, payroll and workforce analytics features. New additions include enhanced reporting tools that let HR executives look deeper into performance, hiring, turnover and other employee data and a new dashboard capability that allows organizations to customize data presentations. In addition, an ACA reporting tool now ties data collection to benefits administration, with employers getting real-time updates when employees become eligible for benefits; it acts as an audit trail to ensure employers are compliant with the federal law.

Workforce Central also includes a mobile-access feature that lets employers choose what HR data employees can view from their portable devices, such as work schedules and accrued PTO information, and a shift-swapping utility. Workforce Central is accessible via Android and iOS devices.

The company says updates are available in the Workforce Central 8.0.14 release, and costs vary. Kronos’ customer advisory board and a beta group tested the product enhancements prior to the rollout.

In addition to the new features, which were announced earlier this month, Kronos added Hindi and Czech to the list of languages Workforce Central supports.

NYU Winthrop Hospital is a Kronos Workforce Central user, and Stacey Pfeffer, senior vice president of human resources and organizational development at the Mineola, N.Y., acute care hospital, says the organization could benefit from the suite’s enhancements, such as the ACA reporting tool. Pfeffer says most employees are limited to using a desktop to manage their time management, but the mobile feature will allow employees to remotely see work schedules and better manage their time.

Allowing employees to manage their time remotely is something many employers are looking to offer. Almost half of all organizations (49%), according to Ventana Research’s “The State of Workforce Management” report, say mobile access is a key technology for improving workforce management.
