As more workers walk away from their current jobs, employers are realizing that this talent has to go somewhere — and recruiters and HR teams are trying to ensure that “somewhere” is their company.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that a record 4.4 million people quit their jobs in September alone, while half a million jobs were added to the labor market in October. With recruiters and talent leaders dealing with unparalleled pressure in their hiring efforts, LinkedIn Talent Solutions is adding new integrations to their platform to streamline job postings, applications and candidate evaluation processes.

“The change that HR professionals and talent leaders are facing today is unprecedented,” says Hari Srinivasan, vice president of product management at LinkedIn Talent Solutions. “Job seekers are getting hired faster than ever before, which shows the tight labor market that we’re in and the need to have tools that help you hire quickly and efficiently.”

Srinivasan notes that hires on LinkedIn were already increasing yearly by 160%. The great resignation, or as Srinivasan views it, “the great reshuffle,” has only made for a more competitive market for employers.

LinkedIn’s newest tool, Apply Connect, is designed to help hiring managers zero in on qualified candidates, prioritizing those with relevant skills and information shown on their LinkedIn profile. LinkedIn claims this smart tech has already helped recruiters collect four times more qualified candidates by directing recruiters to the talent that best fits the job posting.

“Recruiters save significant time and can make faster decisions by getting LinkedIn insights, profile data, and skills relevant to the job, right in their candidate profile,” says Srinivasan. “It also helps our customers take a skills-based hiring approach where recruiters can identify quality candidates directly in their applicant tracking system.”

On the job seeker side, Apply Connect will let talent save and reuse answers for multiple applications, which in turn could mean fewer applicants who give up halfway through an application, explains Srinivasan. The platform will also notify applicants about where they are in the hiring process.

LinkedIn is also adding features such as “Unified Search” and “Recommended Matches” to its Recruiter System Connect platform, which already claims to save recruiters 3.5 hours a week since its launch in 2017. Unified Search allows recruiters to look for candidates across LinkedIn and their own applicant tracking system. Once a job is posted on a recruiter’s ATS, Recommended Matches will recommend candidates found on LinkedIn.

“Almost every company right now is facing a challenge with finding and hiring quality candidates,” Srinivasan says. “Overall, these integrations help better match job seekers with hirers, allowing us to continue to advance our mission of connecting the world’s professionals to economic opportunity.”
