L’Occitane deploys SAP’s SuccessFactors HCM product

L’Occitane has recently implemented SAP’s SuccessFactors human capital management system to streamline its HR operations.

The global cosmetics company is using the cloud-based system for payroll, time and attendance management, hiring, training, recruiting and onboarding, and training and development.

Prior to the transition, L’Occitane used a mix of SAP software and homegrown products but lacked a consistent strategy and streamlined system.

“From an HR point of view, it was very fragmented,” says David le Comte, SAP SuccessFactors project manager for L’Occitane.

The beauty retailer has about 1,500 stores worldwide, where it manages about 10,000 hourly and salaried employees. Using SuccessFactors, le Comte says, allows managers, employees and HR professionals all over the globe access to employee data, while also making the application process consistent across every location. The HCM system aims to allow L’Occitane managers an easy way to track their employees and remain compliant with local labor laws.

The HCM system is priced per employee, although SAP declined to share the cost of the software.

“We chose SAP SuccessFactors solutions to help us simplify and streamline our HR operations,” says Xavier Meulemans, director of total rewards and HRIS at L’Occitane International. “As a global company committed to growth, effectively attracting and engaging a diverse workforce is paramount to our continued success. With SAP SuccessFactors solutions, we’re equipped to better manage a flexible and changing workforce across different geographies and cultures, while also increasing transparency and efficiency.”
