Workday adding personalized messaging to HCM suite

Workday has unveiled a series of upgrades to its human capital management system that it says will let employers deliver personalized notices and content to employees that they will be able to access from anywhere, including their smartphones.

The company plans to roll out the messaging feature next year.

With the new functionality, the company says employee-specific details about things such as benefits, stock options, job tasks, IT requests and more will be pushed to employees’ personal Workday homepages, where workers can make changes or take action without having to access a separate HR portal.

For instance, an employee preparing for benefits enrollment or a leave of absence could receive reminders about deadlines, frequently asked questions and information about documentation requirements, the company said. Or a newly promoted sales manager might receive recommendations about leadership training, tools for setting up sales forecasts and targets, even a snapshot of their team members, including their roles, birthdays and work anniversaries.

“With the power of personalization and intuitive functionality woven into the core HR system, our customers can enable their people to perform tasks easily and efficiently, in turn, boosting engagement and productivity for the benefit of the business,” Cristina Goldt, vice president of human capital management products at Workday, said in a statement.
