Many employees have similar questions about their corporate wellness program, especially if the program is brand-new.

Why are we doing a corporate wellness program?
Be honest and transparent. It’s OK to discuss rising healthcare costs and the desire to create a happy, healthy workforce.

Who can participate in the corporate wellness program?
Be able to discuss workload requirements, spousal participation and whether or not dependents are included.

Am I required to participate in the wellness program?
Wellness should never be a requirement. Be sure employees understand the benefits, but don’t make them take part.

What do I have to do to be a part of the program?
Outline what it takes to be a wellness participant. This can include a biometric screening, health risk assessment or specific activities.

What happens if I choose not to participate in the program?
Absolutely nothing. Punishments simply aren’t effective. Again, focus on the benefits of being a part of the program.
